February beauty favourites!

Hello! As you can see by the title today's post is going to be my February beauty favourites! Yay! So this is my first ever monthly favourites post and so there are quite a few products that I have been loving throughout the month of February! So let's get started..

Aw here are all of favourites in the shape of a heart..with my brushes just placed ever so stupidly in the middle there..oops!

 Ecotools!
So for Christmas one of my dear friends bought me this set of ecotools brushes and I love them! I use them everyday, along with my real techniques brushes and they are just as soft and are very high quality! In this particular set which is the 'fresh and flawless' set you get a total of 5 amazing brushes! As you can see they come beautifully packaged and are nice and small but I have a tiny head so it's perfect! If you need some brushes to get started with makeup I recommend getting a set like this because there is everything a beginner would need in this kit! It's fabulous!

Orange lips! It is no secret that I like orange and that I am excited for spring so put two and two together and you get this! The Loreal Glam Shine balmy gloss in the shade 910! It is a chubby stick basically and my mum describes it as a wax crayon (best description in the world there mum) I must say I do love the colour of it and it is not extremely pigmented (it is supposed to be that way..I think) so I can even get away with some orange lips for school (perfect!) However, it is quite drying and since it is described as a "balmy gloss" I was not expecting this but hey ho I can work around it! I want to try the Bourjois ones so I will also let you know in the future how I get on with those.

Good old liquid eyeliner! I must admit this past week I have not been wearing it much because I am really into the fresh faced spring look (getting a bit ahead of myself I know but I'm excited ok! haha) so I haven't used it all too much but I do love it to death and it definately deserves a place in my favourites! The liquid eyeliner I use is the Loreal Super liner in perfect slim (It has the pointiest, slim tip ever! It's incredible and so precise), I know that there is also a chunkier version of this which allows you to draw thicker lines I guess, who knows? I have never tried that one but I gave the perfect slim one a whirl aqnd I adore it! This was the first ever 'pen' liquid eyeliner I have ever used so going from using that weird brush/nib thing you usually get with liquid eyeliners to this was a little tricky at first I am not going to lie (and I have been using liquid eyeliner for years, I consider it one of my talents! haha) but I promise that you will get the hang of this and if you have never used liquid eyeliner before, I reccommend purchasing this because it is a fine nib making for a precise and easy (well...as easy as you can get with liquid eyeliner) application! Plus it is much easier than gel or traditional liquid eyeliner so give it a try! Go on I dare you! tehee

Excuse the state of my mascara firstly, it is very well loved! I use the infamous, the incredible Maybelline the falsies in black drama! Oh my goodness, if you can find me a better mascara cheaper/same price as this then I will give you a medal (don't take me up on that! haha) because this mascara is phenominal! This mascara was first brought to my attention by the beautiful Tanya Burr who used to basically worship this mascara ever time she used it and so whilst I was in London I thought why not try it? That was the best thought ever because this mascara is the perfect consistency (some people say it is too wet but I didn't find that) and it adds little fibres onto the end of your lashes, making them appear longer and fuller! Go try it, I promise you won't regret it!

Oh brows! What would we do without them? (probably look very odd!) I never used to fill in my brows because I always found that they looked to harsh (no before you ask, I did not use black or anything or a pen, pencil or crayon!) because my eyebrows are quite full-ish and kind of dark but I think however many you tube videos you watch, however many blog posts you read, the only person that knows how to do your brows is you! I don't think doing your brows is something you can master in a week, it takes time! Bt I have three main tips:
 - Don't overpluck!!! Believe me I speak from experience, do not overpluck! Please! It os very easy to do but the thinner and more arched your brows are, the older you will look! If you are sitting there right now plucking away, put the tweezers down! Pretty please?! Maybe when I feel brave enough I will put some pictures up of what my brows looked like when I overplucked them and what they look like now but that is for another time!
-Less is more! Even if your eyebrows are black, don't use black! Go 1 or 2 shades lighter if you have brown eyebrows and 1 or 2 shades darker if you have blonde eyebrows! Try to use powder also as it looks a lot more natural as you can mimic the hairs if that makes sense whereas with a pencil, natural looking brows are very hard to achieve! Be light handed and don't rush it!
-They will never be exactly the same! The sooner you use this the better because you could spend forever sitting there trying to get them to be identical but trust me when I tell you, it will never happen. (unless you measure it out but who does that?!)
Anyway, MUA's pro-brow kit is a great way to get started as it is affordable and comes with a pair of adorable mini tweezers (not for overplucking!), a mini double ended angled brush, 3 different shades of long lasting brow powder and a gel to set them in place! I love this kit because you can mix the shades if you wish to find the perfect match and it also has a little mirror which is great for on the go (just if you tend to do your eyebrows in the car or something..haha) and the powder is really easy to work with and isn't too warm in tone which I like! The gel also comes in very handy for keeping those brows firmly in place!

Back to MUA again! Eyeshadow is something I use on a daily basis, nothing fancy usually just a flesh toned shadow on the lid and a matte light brown usually goes in the crease of my eyelid to add some defintion. Which is why I love this palette so much! It has the shadows that I need to create a simple, yet effective look but it also has the potential to have a gold smokey eye, a bronze look, a dark black smokey eye or a pink champagne look! All of which look very pretty and are easy to achieve! You are pretty much set if you get this, especially if you are looking for a cheap, useful eyeshadow palette to get you started, this is the one! As I have mentioned before I think in a review of this palette which you can go take a look at here, I recommended it to my friend who wanted to get into wearing eyeshadow more often and so far she hasn't complained about it so all is good!

I have worn this every day since I brought it this month! It is the MUA blush in the shade 'lush' and it is a bright pink that looks quite scary in the pan and seems a bit adventurous but it is the perfect pop of colour for spring, it gives you a fresh, pinched glow and since it is a creme blusher it looks very natural! It brings so much colour into my skin and makes it look alive and fresh and healthy which I am in love with!

So there you have it! My February favourites for 2014 and I have loved alot of products this month and I look forward to reading and watching everyone elses posts so I can go out and try even more products in March (It is also my brithday in March so I am particularly excited!) In fact, if any of you enjoyed this post and it introduced you to some amazing products you have on your shopping list then do let me know in the comments or tweet me (links are at the top of my page or in my contacts page) and feel free to link your February favourites post below or you can tell me your favourite product of February 2014! I hope you enjoyed this post and I will see y'all soon! Goodbye!

A blogger's world!

So my blog is one week old today! One week is not exactly a long time but it feels as though I have been blogging for months and there is a lot that I have learnt in the last week and I am sure that I will continue to learn as my baby blog grows! So today I am simply just going to sit here and talk to you about what I have learnt so far, tips on starting your own blog (I am no expert but sharing is caring right?) and just some things that come along with being a blogger!

What have I learnt so far?

I have only been blogging for a week but it has been one of the most insightful, exciting and thrilling weeks of my life (excuse the cheesiness there! haha) and I obviously still do not know everything but starting a blog has made me look at things in a different light and change the way I do certain things such as handling my social media! Before having my blog, like most people I could post whatever I wanted on my social media without even giving it a thought! And technically I still can but before I put out a tweet or an Instagram, I have to think about who's reading and the effect it will have on my blog and how people perceive me. For example, now I would never tweet something indirect or silly or moaning like "oh grow up" or "I'm so angry" because I don't want to bring anyone down and if any of you beautiful people follow me, you might think I am a horrible person or something! If I put out an embarrassing Instagram, all of you guys will see it! I have just learnt to think about the effect my posts have on you lovely people because I want to brighten your day and make you smile so tweeting encouraging things is a way to do that and even if you don't have a blog try your best to make others smile and feel good because why not? It takes seconds to send out a tweet that could change someones mood for the day! Since I have had a blog, my social media is no longer all about me it is all about you guys!

Tips on starting your blog

First of all I am no expert but I have had a few people asking me to teach them how to start a blog and what to do and what not to do and all of these things! Blogging is an experience where you constantly learn, it gives you a chance to reflect on the things that you are writing about, it can be quite therapeutic sometimes! As I keep saying I have only been doing this for a week but I have started my blog and I am pretty happy with it, I have done a bit of html, I have posted every day, I have made my header, edited photos, made social network icons, interacted with other bloggers ect.

The thing is if you were to ask me how did you make your header? I couldn't just type up an email or a blog post, I would have to sit down with you for an afternoon and show you! For example, my good friend Becky recently started a blog and asked me to help her out so she came over and we spent the entire day together making it and setting things up and it is still not finished because it takes time to build up your blog! However, what I can do is give some top tips! I will also create a post that will be a step by step guide to starting your blog so brace yourselves for that one!

So I thought I would share with you some mistakes that either I've made or most bloggers make when starting out so you won't have to go through the same thing!

The first mistake a lot of bloggers make is picking their name! Not a lot of people think about their name in the beginning and this is the first thing I say to anyone who asks me about starting a blog, what will your name be? And a lot of the time they reply with "I don't know" which is perfectly fine but you really should think about it beforehand, plan it and don't rush it! Pick a name that is easy to remember and that is catchy and make sure that your url matches your blog name! If your blog name is 'billions of buttons' but your url is candycanes.blogspot.com then people will get confused and find you difficult to remember! My blog name is Charlotte Ansell because that is my birth name and that is my name on my social networks and it is what I plan to have as my you tube name in the future so that is the reason I have it as my blog title. You could just have your birth name or you could have a name that reflects what you write about and who you are as a person, for example at first my blog was going to be called 'makeupandmischief' because my blog is a beauty, fashion and lifestyle blog so the name reflected that but I would have to title my social networks makeupandmischief and everyone would get kind of confused so I stuck with Charlotte Ansell. Basically, just think about your name people!

Another mistake bloggers often make is just putting up posts every now and then but wondering why no one is noticing their blog! Leave comments on other blogs! If you don't leave a comment anywhere no one is going to see you! But don't leave comments like 'check out my blog please' and leave a link, comments are not a promotional tool, they are there for bloggers to get positive feedback and for others to see a glimpse of  your personality and if you leave a lovely comment, 9 times out of ten I'll click it and go look at your blog! Don't force your blog on people! It has the adverse effect! Also, I found this really helped me, promote on google+! I don't want to bombard my Instagram and twitter followers with blog posts being as I post everyday, so I promote my blog on google+! It helps get your blog onto search engines and the more you promote, the more people will see it and the more it will come up in google! Also, interact with your readers! Especially when you are starting out, encourage them to tweet you or leave you comments, give them oppurtunities to talk to you and get to know you! Take their requests, remember you are writing for them as well as yourself and without your readers, your blog would be useless really, you might as well create a diary!

Take your own photos! Try your best not to use stock photos as it is nice to have a personal touch to your blog and make people trust and believe what you are writing about! Anyone can copy and paste a picture from superdrug and say that they love this product! How do the readers know that you own or use or love that product if you are using a stock photo?! If you have to use stock photos for any reason such as if the products have yet to be released or your camera's broken but if you ever are in these situations explain this to your readers! They aren't phychic! Also, one of the main things I enjoy about blogging is taking photos!

Use social media! If the only social network you have is facebook, how are readers going to get to know you or see what you are doing, what you are wearing or what your style is? You need to connect with your readers and using other social networks such as Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr are great ways to do it!

Be patient! You may have just stumbled across a big blog like Zoella or Sprinkle of Glitter and thought "wow, how did they get so many followers?!" They have been doing their blogs now for about 6 years! It has taken a long time to get to where they are, it doesn't get big overnight and you need to be commited to your blog if you want it to be a success! However, don't make 'getting big' your focus, if you start a blog purely to get freebies and followers then I wish you luck because it is a lot of work for some freebies and just a lot of followers! Blogging takes time and it can be frustrating as much as it is fun but it is all worth it! You should blog because you enjoy it and no other materialistic reason! If you are willing to do blogging for years then go for it because it is so rewarding and to think that you could inspire people, help people and make them smile just by sitting down for half an hour to write a post is so amazing but you have to be in it for the right reasons! If you feel like you have no followers and no one is interested and you feel like giving up, just wait! Be patient, every blogger has felt like that at some point and for the first year or so it will mostly just be you and your blog and you will feel like it is a lot of wasted effort but if you are committed to your blog you will see results in the end! If your blog is good it will take care of itself! Don't stress about it, just write your blog about whatever you want to write a blog about and if you enjoy your posts then others will start to enjoy them too!

Also, a tip I would recommend to everyone (and a lot of bloggers do this) is keep a book or notepad where you write down all of your ideas or even just make a note on your phone and then you will never have to suffer with bloggers block because you will have a whole book full of ideas!

As for making your header and layout and all of that kind of stuff, you really just have to teach yourself! I can't teach you just by typing up a post, it would be too confusing! You have to have a play with things, download a photo editor and try things out, that is the best way to learn! If you get really stuck or just don't have a natural flare for design, type it into google or you tube and it will show you what to do, it is a matter of trial and error but I would suggest getting your blog to a place where you are happy with the design before you post anything.

Ok I think that is enough tips for today! Sorry if I rambled on a little bit but if this helped just one of you reading this then I will be very happy! I hope that you enjoy blogging and hopefully you won't make too many mistakes but if you do, it's okay! Learn from them! If any of you have decided to start a blog or have a blog already, feel free to leave a link in the comments below and I will be sure to check it out and it is a way for you all to get your blog out there and others will see it! Good luck!

All my social links are at the top of the page or on my contact page, I would love to tweet you guys or have a little conversation on Instagram! There is a follow button in the sidebar if you want to click that I would be extremely happy! See you in the next post!

Dirty works shower products

Oh hello my beauties! Today I thought I would hit you with yet another review! And this time I am going to tell you little ladies and gentlemen (if this is what floats your boat) all about my favourite shower products at the moment! As you can see they are both by Dirty Works and are both Coconut scented (you did not need me to tell you that, you can read but hey, I make life easier haha) Isn't it an odd name for shower products? Dirty works? Anyway these were both given to me for Christmas by one of my lovely friends and I have really enjoyed using them and they are not yet empty so they have lasted very well! There are many things I love about these products, firstly they smell incredible! Obviously if you don't like the smell of coconut then you are not going to love this product as much as I do! You do often come out of the shower smelling like you have poured the whole bottle over you (my family points this out to me every day but it's not a bad smell to have lets be honest!) however it does die down after a bit and your skin smells gorgeous and it feels smooth and hydrated!

As you can see in the picture above, my windows are all steamed up because it is so cold here in Britan, suprise suprise!

I usually use the coconut wash in the shower to..wash I suppose since that is what it's designed for, I don't think you need me to tell you how to use it!

This stuff is incredible, as you can see below I haven't used that much since Christmas but a little goes a long way (yes I really have used this every other day since Christmas) I do not think you need to use this everyday because I think my skin still feels soft and hydrated the day after I use it and I don't feel I need to apply it every day but it is just a matter of personal preference and reading your skin and knowing what it needs. Nowhere on the tub does it say not to use it everyday so feel free to do as you wish!

Also, with this product you do have to wait a few seconds for it to not feel so..sticky but once you wait for it to sink in, getting into your clothes or favourite PJ's shouldn't be a problem! So it is not too bad for feeling as though you can't move after applying but it is obviously not the best as it is not instant!

The reason I love this body butter is because it is a nice consistency and easy to apply and you feel as though your skin is getting a treat and it is receiving the moisture and luxury it deserves! As you can see above it is in fact white in colour but of course once you rub it into your skin it gets absorbed and you can't see it, just like most moisturisers! I wouldn't recommend using it on your face, just because it is a body butter and it is not meant to be used on the face (that's what moisturisers are for) so I would advise you didn't use it on your face!

So hopefully this was a useful review for you guys! If any of you have tried these products, let me know in the comments what you think! It is always interesting to know! I hope your day is going well and if it hasn't then remember this is happening for a reason, you can learn from it! :) smile!

Anyways remember if you want to follow me on twitter, tumblr, instagram, you tube or google+ be sure to click the links at the top of the page or take a look on my contact page. If you could click the follow button in the right sidebar it would make me very happy (like bouncing off the walls happy) and if I like your blog too I will follow you back :)

I love you all lots and keep smiling (especially if you have dimples like me! haha) See you tomorrow! Goodbye!

MUA undressed palette review

Hello bloggers! So this is just a quick post to give you an insight into what amazing makeup there is in the world. There are probably a million reviews of this incredible palette on the internet but I am going to make it a million and one because I love this palette so so much! I do realise that the only makeup reviews I have done so far are on MUA and no I am not sponsored or affiliated with them in any way(sadly) but I do love them for their inexpensive, pigmented products! Therefore why not recommend them to you guys?! I own quite a few MUA products but the one thing I tend to reach for the most are their palettes (so far I own 3) and this one in particular is my life saver!

Just some cheeky little shots I took this morning

Also, please excuse the state of my palette..it's just well loved. Anyway, as you can see you get a total of 12 amazing eyeshadows that vary from mattes to shimmers, perfect for beginners! Seriously if you want to get into wearing eyeshadow, this is the perfect palette because you get a wide range of shades, textures and colours, it is only £4 and you get a mini masterclass on the back just to make life a little easier! I reach for this palette more than my higher end eyeshadows because it has all the colours that you need, they are a really nice consistency and easy to blend making for an easy, effective and quick eyeshadow look! You don't need to break the bank to get amazing quality and pigmentation! Sometimes drugstore is best. This palette is also widely known as a dupe for the Naked 1 palette by urban decay. I do not have the palettes to compare but there are a trillion swatches out there that will prove it to you!

I actually persuaded my friend Beth to get this palette as she wanted to start wearing eyeshadow but didn't know where to begin! So I directed her to the MUA counter and she picked it up, I have yet to ask her what she thought of it but so far she hasn't messaged me in distress so I assume all is good!

By the way guys please do not think for a second that this post is sponsered in any way (I would let you know if it was) I want you to feel as though you can trust me and believe me you can trust me on this one because I adore this palette and without it I don't know what I would do! So if you have tried this palette let me know what you think in the comments! I hope this post was helpful to at least one of you and I will look forward to next time (ie, tomorrow!) All social links are at the top of my page or on my contact page, there is a follow button at the side (the button that if it is clicked, I jump around screaming and getting very excited!) I will see you guys tomorrow with yet another post! Goodbye!

Would you rather?

Hello my lovelies! I hope your day is going well so far! This post in particular never fails to make me laugh and so I thought that it would be fun to do and also fun for you guys to read!(hopefully) So there are loads of versions of this tag, such as the beauty edition, but I decided just to do a general version as it would be of more interest to a lot of you! Especially since my blog seems to be just a mish mash of random things so far!(I do love my blog though!) So basically how it works is I will get a selection of questions beginning with would you rather..and the rest is filled in, I then have to answer these questions and discuss my answer as many of you will be screaming at your screen in disagreement..or you will be just sitting there like normal people, who knows?

Since this is a morning post, grab your cup of tea and your comfiest pair of slippers or socks (personal preference) and I hope you enjoy todays post!

Ok so first question is: Would you rather only ever wear clothes that are too big or clothes that are too small?

This is tricky because I am so tiny so big clothes would just drown me but clothes that are too small would feel very restrictive and uncomfortable, you would also be more prone to food babies which is not good! ( food babies are when you look pregnant because you have eaten a lot but it can also be described as bloating) With bigger clothes I feel that the ability to be sexy would just be impossible but then food babies aren't all that attractive either! I suppose with bigger clothes you can always tie them to make them a bit more fitting or pair them with a belt! However, the idea of having seriously baggy trousers makes me cringe! Ugh no! But then you could always wear skirts or something or leggings! Can you even get leggings that are baggy?? I don't know but I think that I would have to choose clothes that are too big, just for the comfy factor!

Would you rather only eat junk food for the rest of your life or never eat junk food again?

Oh no! This is so difficult because I have a stash of chocolate and cakes and things in my room at all times but I am lucky in the sense that I have a really high metabolism! I don't know how I would survive without my Cadburys whole nut or my cherry bakewells!! But then I think only eating junk food for the rest of my life would cause health problems and I would rather have my health so I would probably have to go with never eating junk food ever again and eat fruit salads as a snack because I do quite enjoy my salads every once in a while, although I'm not sure how I would cope with having them all the time. I also think if I ate junk food for the rest of my life it would get extremely boring, I think chocolate tastes better as a treat when you haven't had it for a while as opposed to eating it all day every day! (I salute you if you have to live without chocolate!)

Would you rather have a reality show follow you for the rest of your life, or live restricted to your house?

As much as this sounds like I want fame and all that, I would have the reality show. Not for the fame or money or any of that stuff, I honestly would go insane being restricted to my house! I have one day off a week and that's a Sunday and unless I really do need a days rest, I hate it! I am the worst with cabin fever! I hate staying in my house doing nothing for even one day, never mind my entire life! That is one of the reasons I love my blog because now Sunday is blogging day! I take all my pictures for blog posts on Sundays and will certainly put up a post on Sundays! It gives me something to do! So I would have to choose the reality show because even though at times it would be hard having little privacy but to me I hate the idea of being house bound!

Would you rather make a blog post everyday or never make a blog post again?

Easily make a blog post every day! I love taking the pictures and writing the post itself is so much fun! Having my own little space on the internet where I can talk about whatever I want and talk about what I love is so therapeutic to me and if anyone is interested in what I have to say and can relate to my blog and if someone can gain happiness from reading it then that is a huge plus! As cringey as it sounds it makes me happy to make others happy! I don't think I could deal with never being able to write another post ever again, it would frustrate me! Even though I could still do a you tube, I love my blog as I can sit here in my pyjamas sometimes with no makeup on and just feel so happy talking about whatever I want to talk about and hoping that someone reads it and finds it interesting or enjoyable or inspiring!

Would you rather wear lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?

Umm I think I might have to go with eyeliner as lipstick! Purely because I often do a winged eyeliner and the thought of that line being red or orange or pink makes me want to just..ugh just the thought is an embarrassment in itself ! However, using eyeliner as lipstick would be easier to get away with, maybe I could just use a nude eyeliner and have it as a nude lip! See? So much easier!

Would you rather have to go to school for the rest of your life or never have gone to school in the first place?

I think I would choose to have never have gone to school in the first place and I fully support education, it is very important! However, My mum could just teach me the basic stuff like reading and writing and spelling ect. Plus, if I went to school for the rest of my life, I wouldn't be able to use the knowledge and qualifications because I would never progress to getting a job.

Would you rather eat 100 bars of chocolate or 100 lettuces?

I love both! My family always calls me a rabbit whenever I eat salad because I love lettuce however, like many women and girls out there I am addicted to chocolate! But then 100 bars of chocolate would make me feel incredibly ill and would taste horrid after a while whereas lettuce can begin to taste a bit like metal (if that makes sense to anyone) after a while and so that would taste rather odd too. Since lettuce won't make me feel so ill I will go with the 100 lettuces! (thank god these are not real life decisions!)

Would you rather take a selfie everyday for the rest of your life or never take a selfie again?

I guess I would have no choice but to take a selfie every day (I promise it is not for a vain reason) as how else am I supposed to run my blog with no selfies?! Anyways I could just take the selfie everyday and then delete it, nowhere did it say I had to put a selfie up everyday! Never taking a selfie again would just be too much like hard work! You couldn't take pictures at your birthday, your wedding, your prom! It would just be awful!

So those were just a few interesting 'would you rather' questions that I answered purely for your entertainment! I hope that you found this interesting and entertaining and if you are feeling rather generous then please do click the follow button near the top of the page! :) It would honestly make my day! All social links are near the top of the page or in my contact page! Have a go at a few of these questions yourself and let me know if you agree with my choices in the comments! Enjoy the rest of your day guys and I will see you tomorrow!

Charlotte vs. thenamesbeckyy ('most likely to' tag)

Hi everyone! So today my close friend Becky started a blog! Therefore it is a very exciting day and so we are going to do a collaboration. We are going to do the 'most likely to' tag which is where we will be asked a series of questions such as most likely to laugh in awkward situations or who is the best cook? We will then each express which one of us we believe to be..the best cook or the most likely to laugh ect. It is difficult to explain but all will become clear as you read on.

excuse us in this picture we literally snapped it when Becky was about to leave #awkwardsmiles

Most likely laugh in an awkward situation?

Me: I think that Becky is most likely to laugh in an awkward situation because she tends to laugh at people hurting themselves and she is quite the giggler!

thenamesbeckyy: "I would be the one to laugh! It sounds harsh but I can't help but laugh when people hurt themselves! Plus I am just no good at handling serious situations! haha"

most likely to cry in the cinema?

Me: I think that I am most likely to cry in the cinema because I cry at the silliest things sometimes and I'm such a wimp so I guess it would be me! I wouldn't even go and watch the hunger games at the cinema in case I was sobbing and squirming!

"I think that I would be the one whose most likely to cry in the cinema as when it comes to movies, a good book or a TV programme, I'm the biggest crier ever known and anyone who knows me will agree with me on this one!"

most likely to fall on a red carpet?

Me: Probably me because I am so clumsy, even today me and Becky went to Spar (a local shop) and I knocked over a box of apple pies or something off the shelf and this random lady was laughing at me.. so it would probably be me that would fall! haha

"I think that if Charlotte and myself ever went to a red carpet event, Charlotte would be the one to fall as she's one of the clumsiest people I've met so I think she'd be the one to cause the embarrassment!"

most likely to pee their pants laughing?

Me: ummm, this is tricky because I laugh very easily if that makes sense yet Becky is quite cool and collected but when she laughs, she does it hysterically, even if it is something that is small and not even that funny, Becky will find it hilarious! So I think it would have to be Becky with that one!

"I would be the one who would probably pee themselves while laughing as when I laugh, I probably go for it and probably embarrass those around me!"

most likely to take charge in situations?

Me: I think it would have to be me! I'm not bossy or anything but if you ask Becky a question, 99% of the time she will just say "I don't mind" so simply for that reason I would say me :)

"This is a tough question as both myself and Charlotte are quite shy and quiet characters but if one of us had to take charge I feel it would be Charlotte as I'm much more shy and depends on others more!"

most likely to be sleepy?

Me: This is tricky because we are both always like ugh I'm so tired but I would probably have to say Becky! Just because I think she is more likely to lie in than me as I have an annoying tendancy to naturally wake up really early!

"I think I'd be the one to be most sleepy as I'm a typical teenaged girl and I procrastinate a lot (it's really bad I know) and I'm always browsing through Tumblr and before I know it, it's 2.00 in the morning, therefore I'm always sleepy!!"

most likely to cry in public?

Me: Definately me!! I am so sensitive at times, for example I cried the other day at trampolining because I couldn't do a seat drop and everyone was watching me, it sounds pathetic but the teacher put me on the spot in front of everyone and I was scared to do it in case I fell! I was shaking! don't judge! haha

"I think that Charlotte would be the one who'd cry in public as I hate crying in front of people as I don't want to put them in a bad mood and so I keep all my emotions inside, (however when it comes to an emotional scene in a film a cry so much it's unreal!)"

most mischievous?

Me: Becky!! For sure Becky is the more mischievous of the two! I don't know why but she is more likely to draw on the walls or pull a prank on someone! For example, the other day she went in to school ( bearing in mind this is the half term) to do a spanish catch up thing and she spent the entire day playing hide and seek (we are both 16 years of age) Yes, point proven.

"I think I'm the most mischievous out of the two of us as I'm always up for a good laugh so I play pranks on people all the time and it drives them insane!"

most likely to throw a diva strop?

Me:...probably me! haha I am not a diva who commands things and orders people around but I am just more likely to voice my opinion, whereas Becky will probably just stand there not knowing what's going on! I have never actually seen Becky have an argument with anybody in the 11 years I have known her! She is just so sweet and lovely!

"I think that Charlotte is most likely to throw a diva strop as I'm more of a shy girl who keeps her feelings to myself and tries not to make a scene. (I'm no good in arguments!)"

most flirty?

Me: I hate to admit it but probably me! (Tehee!) I don't even know I am doing it sometimes but everyone calls me a flirt so there you have it, Becky doesn't really bother with the flirting she will just say they're hot and be done with it! haha

thenamesbeckyy: "I believe Charlotte is the most flirty as I try to act all cool around boys who I find attractive whilst inside I'm like dying from cuteness overload!!"

So there you have it! That was Charlotte vs thenamesbeckyy and after being extremely close friends for over 11 years it is interesting to see what we both thought! We both thoroughly enjoyed creating this post for all of you and as I mentioned Becky has just launched her blog today(I helped her to make it and it has taken all day!), it is not yet completely finished as it has only just been made today but I thought a collaboration was perfect for todays post! My first time!

Hello again! I have been thinking of what to do for today's post and this was just one of the ideas in my little book full of blogging ideas! (yes a bloggers life is that sad) But before you go thinking that this is all about the first time sexually then I can assure you that you are wrong, it is just a post to discuss the first of different things and after watching many peoples videos and reading many different posts, I have gathered a list of categories of which I will discuss my firsts of!

First word?

I am not all too sure what my first word was, I will have to ask my parents for that one. My Mum says it was 'Dada' so obviously I was a very original child, for sure no one else has that as their first word! (I will make sure that if I ever have a child, it's first word will be more interesting than Dada!)

First teddy?

This was my first teddy and he is holding up pretty well, I don't know too much of the story behind it but I know it was brought to me just after I was born so I have had him for a very long time. I don't think he had a name, he might have done but I can't remember it! (must have been really special)

 First friend?

First of all, excuse the state of us in this picture, we were on one of those school trips where you go away for a week with your year group. I am the one on the left and my best friend Becky is the one on the right. We were like twins growing up and we are still very close friends now! The teachers always, without fail, used to get us mixed up and I have no idea why because as you can see I had brown hair and Becky's is blonde! Aw we look so young in this picture! (excuse my hair, I had to do it myself for 5 days and I seemed to find that extremely difficult..)

She just might kill me for putting these on but these are just some photos from the same trip! It's amazing when you think back on all the memories (getting all soppy now haha)

First memory?

I can't remember how old I was here but I can vividly remember this holiday! It was at a Haven camp thing and me and my mums side of the family, along with my Dad of course, were at this house and I actually got over my fear of sand on this trip (yes when I was little I had a fear of sand..don't judge me) I remember this holiday was where I became obsessed with Rory the tiger and I won a badge for dancing so I was pleased as punch! Even back then, my favourite meal was spaghetti bolegnase and it still is to this day! I actually have it tonight for tea! (ironic!)

First school crush?

I must admit I liked quite a lot of boys in primary school but it was always just the 'popular' ones that every girl fancied but nothing would ever actually happen, I would hardly call it boyfriend and girlfriend! Anyway, i remember that what I would consider my first crush would be this boy in year 7 so I would have been about 11 or 12 and I am not going to say his name because that is really awkward but we ended up 'going out' for a while and we were only young so I wouldn't call it much as we thought we loved each other..gosh the things you say and do when you're a year 7! (cringe attack!) In year 7, everyone also used to have a 'top 5' which would be a list of boys ( or girls in a boys case) that you would fancy but you would rank them in order of how much you liked them from 1-5! It sounds so stupid now but everyone had one in year 7 and 8...we were a weird batch of kids!

First kiss?

My first kiss wasn't until year 7 so I when I was 11 or 12 and me and my 'boyfriend' at the time were kind of persuaded to do it by our friends, there were about 5 of them with us, and so we got taken to the place where apparently everyone kissed (a little odd tradition but hey ho) and it was so awkward now I think about it because we had 5 people there just watching and teachers kept walking past and it wasn't even a real kiss it was so quick and everyone was like "oh my god, was that it?!" Yeh it was so embarrassing and I can't quite believe I am telling you all this! haha.

First celebrity crush?

I don't know if I can remember my first celebrity crush, it was probably Zac Efron, I basically grew up in the high school musical phase, I actually went to see high school musical 3 when I was in year 6 with a boy and his dad..he then spilt apple juice all over me (yes it was as bad as it sounds) I don't know why we thought that would be a good day out but we did and I will never forget it!

First boyfriend?

I have kind of already talked about this one with first crush but basically my first 'boyfriend' was in year 7 and from what I can remember we were together until the end of the year or something like that and my friend dumped him for me, he wasn't all that bothered.

First job?

My first ever job was a dog walker! There was this lady who lived just at the top of my road and she found it difficult to walk so she used to pay me to walk her dog for her. Now I think back on it she was very generous! I used to get £20 a week for walking her dog every day for 10 minutes.

First concert?

My first concert I ever went to was when I was 14 and I went to see the wanted with 3 of my friends for one of the girls birthday! The Lawson were actually a support act there and we decided that we would buy their album when they got big..now look at them!

First blog post?

My first blog post ever is not actually there anymore, I deleted it because everything about it was just terrible! The photo's were awful! The post was 'whats in my makeup bag?' and I had taken pictures of all of the products with this really harsh flash, against a wall so they had this massive shadow and I used brandless brushes, it was just terrible so I am thankful that it is no longer there!

First youtuber you subscribed to?

I have been watching you tube for about 4 or 5 years now but the first person I ever subscribed to was Kandee Johnson! She is so bubbly and talented and sweet and I just loved her. Most of my basic knowledge about makeup comes from her and now I am such a makeup junkie, it's a little ridiculous!

First pet?

My first pet that I can remember was two guinea pigs, I had one and my brother had one! Mine was called Samantha and my brother named his Pingu! (don't ask why, even I have know idea!) I loved mine so much although I never used to hold it because I would get scared but she was adorable none the less! One day my Dad picked me up from school and said "Charlotte, I'm really sorry but Samantha has died" and I was so upset and worried, I rushed home only to find that it was Pingu that had died and not mine! However mine did die two days later and I was convinced it was of a broken heart! (I sound like such a weirdo in this post! haha)

So hopefully I haven't scared you away in this post with my strange memories and if you enjoyed it be sure to follow, it would mean the absolute world to me (honestly)! I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and I will see you tomorrow!

Spring essentials haul!

Hello! I am very excited to be writing this because myself, along with a couple of my friends, decided to create a blog! So how better to start this blog than with a haul! And a collective one at that! I have not been shopping since before Christmas and even then all I was doing was buying presents for others, so  this shopping trip was a real treat! I had a whole list of things in my head of what I wanted to purchase and as per usual the majority of it was makeup, thank heavens for Superdrug! So I am going to share with you all of the lovely things I have purchased for the upcoming spring and summer! Who else can't wait for spring?!

So as you can see I made a little trip to new look in search for a flower crown as I have wanted one for a while and new look had quite a variety of styles and colours but after trying them all I went for this gorgeous pink one that is very girly and pretty and it reminds me of the blossom in spring!

What shopping trip is complete without a snoop around Primark? I restrained myself from buying clothes, that is for another time, however I did find myself in the sunglasses section as I did need some new ones. I spotted this quirky pair and tried them on as I have been searching for the right pair of retro style round sunglasses for ages now! Apparently they suited me so they are my sunglasses for this summer! (so exciting!) And then I just needed some more trusty Primark bobbles because they are extremely durable and just £1.00!

Superdrug! Once again, this another shop that I just can't resist especially since what I wanted was mostly makeup. As you can see I am loving the bright spring colours at the moment! I really am getting a bit ahead of myself with the seasons here! It's still freezing and I am walking around with light blue nails and orange/coral lips! Oh well I'm setting the trends already, that's my excuse! haha

I haven't purchased nail polish in quite a while, probably because I have so much of it! These two colours, I just fell in love with instantly, the one on the left is 'bold blue' by MUA and the one on the right is 'satsuma' by Barry M which I am very excited to try as I have not tried the 'Gelly Hi shine nail paints' yet! I know I am a bit late on the bandwagon but still, better late than never! Barry M are just amazing when it comes to pigmentation, you can be sure that you will get the best!

Lips! I have way more makeup than I need (so I'm told) but lately I have been feeling like I have no lip products that I can use for the transition from winter to spring! I have so many lip products it is a little ridiculous but I had no coral or peachy shades so off to superdrug I went to get me so lipsticks!

Now, I have never owned a beauty UK lipstick before but I went around superdrug trying to find an orange lipstick but it seems that every theif in the world has decided to take all of the orange lipstick testers, even Barry M who had two orange lipsticks! Both the testers weren't there! So in the end I found this one which seemed to be reasonably pigmented and so I grabbed it.

Firstly, please excuse what looks like a rash on my hand, I can assure you that it is not a rash. I just took these pictures after shopping and I had been swatching like crazy, then I tried to rub it off and it just made it worse..hopeless, just hopeless. Anyway, It looks a bit more red/orange on this picture but I can assure you that it is orange! And I love it! I think it suits me more than red does, I am not to sure why but this will be my staple for spring!

As you can see above this lipstick is called 'naughty' (trust me to pick this one!)

Yay! I have wanted one of these for ages! I swatched every orange chubby stick that each brand had, I think Maybelline are the only ones without these at the moment. I compared this one by Loreal and the Boujuor one and Loreal was more pigmented and so I chose this one! Can you tell my favourite colour is orange?

As you can see it is a lot more subtle than the lipstick and it has quite a glossy finish to it. I think this will be more suitable in the summer as it is a lot more natural than the lipstick, if you are in school then these would be perfect as you still get a hint of colour and glossiness without looking too made up!

Obviously Loreal don't seem to believe in names so this shade is called 910 :) They come in a variety of different shades!

The ever so trusty MUA! I have never tried their blushers but I wanted some brighter ones that I could just use the tiniest bit of to get a pinched glow. I picked up one powder and one creme blusher and here they look quite similar but they really aren't! The powder one is very pigmented and bright and the creme one is more subtle but it looks so gorgeous on the skin!

This is the creme blusher and it is called 'Lush'

This is the powder blusher (above) and this one is called 'Marshmellow'

It is a crime if you have never tried this! Collection's lasting perfection ultimate wear concealer (yes it is a very long name!) is the dream concealer! It is so pigmented as you can see below and it blends beautifully! I have been blessed with dark under-eyes and so this stuff is a life saver as it gets rid of them right away! All I would say is make sure to moisturise your face before using this as it is a bit drying and it is so much easier to work with when your skin is moisturised!

I have to have it in shade 1 as I live in Britan and so I am quite pale! If you want it for your under-eyes then I recommend going a shade lighter because this will brighten your skin as well as covering it!

I honestly wish that you could smell this! In fact if you ever happen to come across it, just smell it because it is just delicious! I have tried it and it does work very well! But I must admit I did purchase it purely for the smell as it is just gorgeous! As you can see it is caramel cream flavour/scent and it is heavenly!

As you can see there is a nice big dip in it from where I've already used it but I love it so much!

That is all for my shopping haul! I hope this helped you on whether you want to purchase any of these products or if you were just bored and wanted a read, I hope you enjoyed it either way! :) Please feel free to leave comments if you want to know prices or anything else! Have a lovely day and I will see you next time!
